Italian picnic
by the alpine
waterfall

Italian picnic at the foot of the waterfall.
Val Formazza, Piemonte, Italia

An unforgettable trip to the Italian Alps to one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Europe, Cascate del Toce. The flow of water from mountain glaciers falls from a height of 143 m, captivating with its strength and natural beauty.

I will meet you at the station and we will go on an exciting journey to the mountains - one of the highest massifs of the Western Alps -  Lepontine Alps.

Our trip to the waterfall will take about 1.5 hours by car or bus among mountain landscapes  - valleys, snow-capped peaks, steep cliffs, serpentine roads  and colorful mountain villages.

In Riale, at an altitude of 1700 m above sea level, we will continue our walk around the magical Lake Morasco with amazing azure waters, see how the dam of the high-mountain power plant works, enjoy the fantastic views of the Lepontian Alps and the aromas of alpine herbs._cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136bad5cf58d_

And then we will go down to the waterfall - a real natural masterpiece. We will feel like mountain eagles soaring over the spacious Formazza valley, standing on the observation deck above the roaring streams of the falling river.

I will introduce you to  the history and geography of this place, tell you about the customs and lifestyle of the local population, about the local cuisine and delicacies (dried goat meat, blue mountain cheese, _cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b- 136bad5cf58d_prosciutto Val Vigezzo and the famous Bettelmatt cheese), which you can immediately try.

After a delicious lunch of your choice in one of the typical local restaurants or a real Italian picnic with prosciutto, melon and prosecco, we can go down  to the foot of the waterfall, swim_cc781905-5cde-3194-bb3b-136ccbad5cf58d_in the spray_of the frolicking water 5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_soak up the rays of the mountain sun.
